McCarthy used the majority of his first-team players in the first round of this year’s EFL Cup and is expected to field a similar squad with the star striker on Tuesday Kieffer Moore set to guide the line.
Despite having struggled to enter the league so far, Marley Watkins impressed with a brace in beating Sutton United and will be given another chance.
Further back, Flint and Morrison should still appear in a chain of three, with Curtis Nelson expected to complete the back line since Ciaron Brown remains out of action due to injury.
Potter was supposed to give starting spots to several players who have struggled with midfielders to get into the Brighton XI this season Enock Mwepu expected to make his first start for the club after joining from Red Bull Salzburg in the summer.
